Beginning with the 2011-2012 school year, Kindergarten will be implementing the "Common Core Standards" into the curriculum. First and second grades will also begin the transition to the Common Core Standards as well.

April 10 - 2012-2013 Kindergarten Registration 1:00-5:00 p.m. Following the state regulations, children entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 30, 2012. The following documents are required: Official Birth Certificate (For help, check with the Public Health Department), the child's Social Security Card, Immunization/Physical Examination Record (both now shown on the same form), and TWO proofs of residency. Mark this important date! We look forward to meeting you and your child.

A Message From The Principal...
The faculty and staff of Algood Elementary School would like to welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year!
The faculty and staff at our school believe in a strong partnership with families, and we urge the entire school community to renew your commitment to supporting our public schools. Research has shown that children of parents who get involved in their child's education do better academically and socially because they feel more connected to school and know that they belong.
As we work together to continually improve the academic program for all students, we will also strive to make our school a safer and more inspiring place in which to learn.
